What are portable power stations
Portable power stations provide ideal and portable off-grid power supplies for all kinds of applications in and around your home. But also for outdoor and outdoor activities. With a power station, you can continue to use electrical appliances at 220 Volts at any time. The characteristic features of a portable power station can be found in the various output options. Ranges from USB-(C), 12V to 230V AC. The method of charging also distinguishes a Power Station from other portable power supplies. You can simply charge a portable power station from the wall socket with a 230V AC adapter. But also with a car charger and even with solar panels.
Wide range of portable Power Stations
We offer Portable Power Stations in different shapes and sizes via our website, each model with its own specific features and applications. Off Grid Power Station has Power Stations in its range with a battery capacity of 200Wh to 25,000Wh. High capacities are possible because you can expand (specific) Power Stations with extra modules/batteries. In this way, a Power Station provides sufficient capacity to provide (parts of) your home with power. Combined with the UPS function – which is integrated – these Power Stations ensure that your equipment does not fail in the event of sudden power cuts.
Power station manufacturers are increasingly responding to such applications, but also to sustainability, longer lifespan and flexibility through the possibility of expanding the system with additional batteries.
Almost all portable power stations in our range are intended to provide devices with power in off-grid situations. Not all portable power stations in our range can be used as portable home batteries. If you would like advice on this, please contact us.
Power Sation with Solar Panel?
Solar panels convert light into electricity and the use of solar panels has increased enormously in popularity. The power that solar panels can generate is expressed in watts (W). The more sun, the more your panels naturally produce. But even when the sun is not shining, solar panels generate electricity. A low temperature is beneficial for the yield of a solar panel. If the temperature of the panel increases, this leads to a small decrease in yield. The most favorable conditions are sunny days in spring.
Our range includes solar panels that are suitable for various applications in combination with Power Stations. Are you looking for a foldable solar panel? Please note: semi-flexible solar panels or foldable panels are more sensitive and damage occurs sooner. Always handle solar panels as carefully as possible to avoid damage. Even a small amount of damage can cause a significantly lower yield. A solar panel is divided into zones. Any zone with a defect is completely switched off.
Optimal energy generation
The yield of a solar panel depends on external conditions in which you generate energy. The most important aspects are:
The climate
An important factor is the climate. The number of hours of sunshine, the amount of shade, and the temperature affect the performance of solar panels. The warmer the solar panels get, the more the yield deteriorates. In the Netherlands, the weather is changeable and this problem is much smaller than in warmer countries with more hours of sunshine. Therefore, keep in mind that on a hot summer day, the efficiency of your solar panels is lower.
The power of solar panels is expressed in watts peak (Wp). This is a maximum achievable power that can be achieved under ideal conditions. The weather conditions are different every day. In the summer the sun is higher than in the winter and the temperature is never the same. Optimal means an angle of inclination of 36 degrees, a south-facing arrangement, when the sun is at the perfect point in the sky and when the solar panel has a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
Shadow
The efficiency of a solar panel decreases as more shade falls on the panel. When using portable (foldable) solar panels, you can of course take into account the presence of objects that cause shadow.
What is the efficiency of a solar panel?
By efficiency we mean the proportion of the sunlight that can be converted into usable electricity. An important aspect is the efficiency of the solar cells. The higher the efficiency of a solar cell, the more power is generated per surface area. Solar panels with more power achieve a higher efficiency. High efficiency solar panels are not always better than solar panels with lower efficiency. 100 W power, remains 100 W power. There are other aspects that can affect the efficiency of a solar panel, including the components and techniques used.
The final efficiency of solar panels therefore depends on many factors. And while some factors are out of your control, there are plenty of options for getting the most out of your solar panels. If you combine a solar panel with a power station or battery, you always use your self-generated energy and you are completely off grid.
